Muluki Ain (Civil Code) Bill passed

Kathmandu, Sept 25, 2017: A meeting of the Legislature-Parliament today passed the Muluki Ain (Civil Code) Bill, 2074 BS.  Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Yagya Bahadur Thapa had presented a proposal before the parliament seeking passage of the bill.  The bill includes provision on division of property. Earlier, the parliament had directed the committee concerned to incorporate this provision instead of the provision of granting will on parental property to be effective 19 years after the granting of the will. The provision of will on parental property was in the bill when it was first presented in parliament.  The bill which takes effect one year after the President authenticates it is one of the legislations that displaces the Civil Code.  Similarly, the meeting passed the Country Civil Procedure (Code) Bill, 2074.   मेक्सिको सिटी, ४ असोज सिन्ह्वा० ः मेक्सिकोमा मङ्गलबार राति शक्तिशाली भूकम्प गएको छ । यसमा परी १०० जनाभन्दा बढीको ज्यान गएको समाचार छ ।   भूकम्पले मध्य मेक्सिकोलाई बढी हानेको छ । भूकम्पको मापन ७।१ म्याग्निच्युडको गरिएको अमेरिकी भौगार्भिक संस्थाले जनाएको छ ।   अधिकारीहरुले भूकम्पको धक्का निकै नै शक्तिशाली महसुश भएको र यसको केन्द्रबिन्दुको मापन गहिराईमा नभएर बढी सतहमा गरिएकोले ठूलो जनधनको क्षतिको अनुमान गरेको जनाएका छन् ।   मध्य मेक्सिकोको मोरलोस् सहरमा मात्र ५४ जनाको मृत्यु भएको छ । अधिकारीहरुले ५४ जनाको शव भेटिएको र अरु कैयौँ व्यक्ति भूकम्पबाट भत्किएका भग्नावशेषमा पुरिएको हुनसक्ने अनुमान गरेका छन् ।   मध्य मेक्सिकोका जोजुत्ला, कयुरोनभाका, टेटेकाला, माइकाल्टान नामका सहरहरुमा बढी क्षति पुगेको अनुमान गरिएको मेक्सिको सरकारका मुख्य सचिव मातिलास क्वीरोजले जानकारी दिनुभएको छ ।   उहाँका अनुसार भूकम्पपछि देशैभरी ठूलो त्रास छाएको छ । उद्धारको कार्य जारी रहेको भए पनि पराकम्पनहरु आइरहेकोले चुस्त हुन नसकिरहेको उहाँले जानकारी दिनुभयो ।   पुएब्ला राज्यम मात्र ४...

Las Vegas Shooting Near Mandalay Bay Is Said to Kill at Least 20

A gunman in a Las Vegas hotel opened fire Sunday night at a concert outside, sending thousands of people fleeing as SWAT units searched for the attacker. At least 20 people were killed and more than 100 others injured, hospital officials said. The shooting happened near the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Video posted online showed the country singer Jason Aldean performing outside the hotel at Route 91 Harvest, a country music festival, interrupted by the sound of automatic gunfire. The music stopped, and concertgoers ducked for cover. “Get down,” one shouted. “Stay down,” screamed another. Several SWAT teams were sent to the hotel immediately after the first reports of the shooting at 10:08 p.m., and officers reported being pinned down by gunfire, according to emergency radio traffic. Shortly before midnight the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported that “one suspect is down,” and soon thereafter the police said they did not believe there were any more active gunmen....
