Las Vegas shooting: at least two dead and 24 injured at Mandalay Bay casino

Police in Las Vegas have said “one suspect is down” after a shooting at the Mandalay Bay casino.
At least two people have died and 24 people have been injured after shooting broke out on the final night of the three-day Route 91 Harvest country music festival. 
The Las Vegas police department said the investigation into the shooting remained active, amid reports of further shots fired in other areas of the Vegas strip.
Concertgoers reported seeing muzzle flashes from the upper floors of the Mandalay Bay hotel and casino across Las Vegas Boulevard from the festival and the sound of what they described as automatic gunfire, according to the Associated Press.
Witnesses posted video footage on social media of what appeared to be gunfire, and artists at the festival tweeted about gunshots.

The city’s McCarran International airport said flights in and out of the airport “have been temporarily halted in response to reported shooting incident on Las Vegas Strip”.
Las Vegas city hall said it was a “very sad night for Las Vegas” and warned members of the public to stay away from the south end of the Vegas strip, where the Mandalay Bay hotel and casino is located.
